Tiffany Church
Tiffany graduated in 2009, completing the Sterile Supply Technician course through a correspondence program at Vancouver Community College. She has spent most of her career working at the Halifax Infirmary as a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician, taking on leadership roles like Charge Personnel and Resource Personnel for different areas within the department (Steam Sterilization, Decontamination, TEE Probe/Endoscope Super User & Trainer). Tiffany obtained Canadian Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Certification (CMDRT) in 2016 through the Canadian Standards Association. She also obtained Certification in Healthcare Leadership (CHL) through IAHCSMM in 2018. Tiffany went into a formal leadership role as Team Lead/O.R. Liaison at the Victoria General Hospital. In 2019, she transitioned to the Interprofessional Practice and Learning Portfolio, becoming a Clinical Educator for Medical Device Reprocessing covering the province.
Tiffany has a passion for teaching and training new staff members as they enter the Medical Device Reprocessing Department. In 2021, Maritime Business College was seeking someone to develop and instruct a new program for Medical Device Reprocessing Technicians and deliver a classroom course here in Nova Scotia. Tiffany took on this role and spent six months developing materials and lesson plans, and one full year instructing the program, which consisted of two intakes. During her time instructing, she obtained a certificate in Adult Learning Fundamentals through Dalhousie University. Tiffany has since returned to her role as Clinical Educator of Medical Device Reprocessing with Nova Scotia Health.
Tiffany is an avid member of the Medical Device Reprocessing Association of Nova Scotia. She has sat on the executive committee in various capacities.
