Debbie Church

I hold 25 years’ experience in the Medical Device Reprocessing field. Starting out Halifax Infirmary as a technician I continued on to become the MDR Resource/Trainer, then Lead Hand (Charge Person), and have been the MDR Staff Developer for over 10 years, and currently the MDR Supervisor at the MDR IWK Health Centre

I am also a member on the Provincial Policy and Procedure Committee, as well as one of the leads on the Standard Operating Procedure working group for the province. Given the duties and responsibilities that come with these roles, I have extensive knowledge with CSA (Canadian Standards Association), ANSI/AAMI (American National Standards Institute/Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation), ORNAC (Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada), and ISO (International Organization for Standardization).

I been a member of the association since 2000, enjoyed my multiple role on the executive as Secretary, Vice President and currently the MDRANS President. The experience that I have gained in these roles has given me vast amount of knowledge in the MDR field. I look forward to working with the executive and members in my role as President of MDRNS

I live in Halifax with my husband of 40 years. I have 2 grown sons, 5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter that keep me busy. I spend most of my time at our camp, enjoying time with my family.
