Vice President

Susan Currie

I have 27 years’ experience in MDR. I first started at the Old Camp Hill Hospital in 1992 on Robie St and when that building was torn down, we amalgamated to the Halifax Infirmary Hospital on Queen St. Then in 1997 that building was demolished to make way for the new Halifax Infirmary Hospital which I worked at until 2015.

I then moved out west with my family for my husband’s career. I decided at that point to try other career opportunities and took a step back from the MDR world. After 4 years of living the western lifestyle, we came back home to Halifax in 2019. At that point in my life, I was trying to decide what I wanted to do when I grew up and while doing that, I did a couple of odd jobs until I figure things out.

In 2021 I returned to MDR at the Victoria General Hospital as a casual MDR tech. I then took on a term position which quickly turned into a permanent fulltime position which has now led me into my new position as the supervisor of the MDR department at the Halifax Infirmary.

I have held various roles in my 27 years in MDR, been a member of MDRANS and I also held the treasurer position on this committee.
